Most students, even Valedictorians bomb standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. These are not about content but are logic-based, critical thinking and reasoning tests. The questions are purposely misleading students with appealing wrong answers. Students only get around a minute per question so they burn up the clock with time, but they can be answered in 30 seconds or less.
It takes a different skillset to beat college entrance tests. These strategies are not taught in most schools. These tests put everyone on a level playing field since they are standardized, and every test is the same for all students. A 4.0 at one school is not the same at another. They can be beat by learning the recurring patterns and practicing with actual tests. A standardized test has standardized questions and standardized answers.
Most test prep companies, even name-brand ones, teach more math concepts, thousands of vocabulary words, rehash grammar rules, I.e., reteaching school all over again. You can’t study for them but must learn the recurring patterns found on each test. It takes a different skillset to beat these tests since they are testing your critical thinking skills.

Do you have fond memories of parachute games, freeze-tag, kickball, foursquare, and more? Homeschool Fitness is a P.E. program held in local gyms, allowing homeschooled children the opportunity to receive traditional P.E. instruction.
Founded by a homeschooling mom who wished her own children had less screen time and more opportunities for physical education and social interaction, the program is designed to provide a fun, wholesome, and safe fitness experience for all kids ages 5 through 12.
Each class period starts with basic warm-up routines that include calisthenics as well as cardio activities. Main activities include playground games, sports, obstacle courses, drills, team exercises, and more.

Kyle Woodruff is a master musician and music teacher. He graduated with honors from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2006, where he earned money for tutoring other students in Music Theory and Ear Training. Kyle has been a full-time music teacher for 10 years. He has played the Piano since he was 2 years old, the organ since he was 8, and has been picking up additional instruments ever since! Tiny Tots Ballet Children 2-3 year old will spend 30 minutes per week exploring movement, improving large motor skills and flexibility.

At WestWind Karate, we combine physical Exercise, Self-Defense based Martial Arts, and Principles that reinforce mental and emotional fortitude. We believe everyone is capable of achieving Black Belt Excellence. During the week we divide our classes into two types. During “A Days” we engage our students through warm ups, exercises, and techniques that test our students endurance and discipline. “B Days” we review the curriculum learned and then encourage students to apply these in situational sparring to better develop physicality and committing the curriculum to not just memory but application.
WestWind Karate Kids Summaries
(3- 6 years old)
Our Early skills program was specially designed for the developmental stages of 3 and 4-year olds. We collected scientific and psychological data regarding this age group, and used that information to ensure that our program meets each child’s specific and needs and capabilities.
In the Early skills Program, each child experiences training that targets the 8 “early” skills that they are all currently developing. These skills include: kicking, punching, blocking, crawling, hopping, rolling, running, and catching. Each skill has been broken down into age-specific exercises, games, activities, and drills that compliment their stage of development.
The Basic Skills Program is a preliminary Martial Arts training course that focuses on building 5 and 6-year olds capabilities; physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. We call this program “Basic” skills because it helps each child properly develop the basic fundamental skills they are currently acquiring at this age. We are confident in what our program can do for all children.
Children this age are in a unique growth period. They are refined in their gross motor skills, while establishing a foundation in basic fundamental skills. These basic fundamental skills include: focus, teamwork, control, balance, memory, discipline, fitness, and coordination. In any other sport of activity, all of these 8 skills are important to have. The more exposure to proper development in each of these skills, the better your child will be. For this reason, we have tailored a nine level training course that increases the intensity of each skill at every level.
