Alliance Learning Center allows the family/student to create a schedule of their choosing from our variety of Core and Elective classes. In 2019 I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree and license in Special Education. I began teaching previous to graduation in the significant needs program and was able to stay on staff until I moved to the Southern Utah area where I continued teaching in a similar position. The goal of Argyle Acre’s Farm Camps and workshops

is to provide time for children to connect with nature and learn about the relationship between regenerative agriculture and the environment through developmentally appropriate experiential learning activities. Each Day, Monday through Thursday, Children are immersed in the daily rhythms of the farm by helping with farm chores, caring for animals, investigating insects, and interacting with the natural world. -14 private, 1.5 hour horse riding lessons with a Bridle Up Hope instructor. The participant will learn the basics of caring for horses and riding techniques including walk, trot, canter.

- The participants are given a “7 Habits for Equestrians Riding Journal” to use during the experience. In addition to their weekly riding lesson, they spend time journaling their experience as well as spending time in introspection.

- The participants are given weekly opportunities to serve at the barn, be with the horses, and make friends. In addition they participate in our Sharpen the Saw classes, in which they will have the opportunity to learn to cook, sew, do yoga, Chinese, line-dancing, art, gardening, and do sports.

College Prep Genius is an award-winning company featuring test prep that works for SAT, PSAT, CLT and ACT. Students can raise their test scores to receive scholarship money, even free college. Their students have raised their SAT as much as 700 points, ACT, 9 points, become National Merit Scholars and even gone to Ivy Leagues for free.

Most students, even Valedictorians bomb standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. These are not about content but are logic-based, critical thinking and reasoning tests. The questions are purposely misleading students with appealing wrong answers. Students only get around a minute per question so they burn up the clock with time, but they can be answered in 30 seconds or less.

It takes a different skillset to beat college entrance tests. These strategies are not taught in most schools. These tests put everyone on a level playing field since they are standardized, and every test is the same for all students. A 4.0 at one school is not the same at another. They can be beat by learning the recurring patterns and practicing with actual tests. A standardized test has standardized questions and standardized answers.

Most test prep companies, even name-brand ones, teach more math concepts, thousands of vocabulary words, rehash grammar rules, I.e., reteaching school all over again. You can’t study for them but must learn the recurring patterns found on each test. It takes a different skillset to beat these tests since they are testing your critical thinking skills.

Join the Improv Academy at ComedySportz in Provo, a fun and dynamic class for homeschool teens 11+ eager to master improv comedy. Over twelve 90-minute weekly classes, students will learn quick thinking, active listening, and collaboration through engaging games and exercises taught by professional performers and comedians. We Offer Riding Lessons

Our Riding Lesson Program focuses on creating clear communication, leadership, and confidence-building through horseback riding. We teach a wide range of ages from 8 years old and up; no experience is needed! It’s never too late to start! We teach small group lessons of 3 students per class to help connect to the equestrian world. Lessons consist of 1-hour sessions once a week and are scheduled during weekday afternoons and evenings, year-round. We have an indoor riding arena and an outdoor riding space.

Our first lessons will start with basic posture and control through walking straight, turning, and stopping; as students get more confident we will add speed and more intricate movements to our lessons. (We teach the Western style of riding.)

Each student will be instructed using our lesson plan which includes a list of goals/ accomplishments we want each student to be able to confidently perform. As students achieve these goals they will receive prizes. We strive to help all our students learn at a pace that is appropriate for them and allows them to grow.

Jr. Riding Lessons

Working with us, young children will gain instruction from our wonderful trainers while they teach students how to focus on horsemanship and become confident equestrian riders.

We teach from ages 5-7 years old in the Jr. Classes; no experience is needed! These lessons will help younger students prepare for our Riding Lessons through games. We teach small group lessons of 2 students per class to help connect to the equestrian world.

Lessons consist of 20-minute sessions once a week and are scheduled during weekdays, year-round. We have an indoor riding arena and an outdoor riding space.

Elevé Arts Academy is a new, non-competitive, dance studio focused on fostering technical development and creative expression. We offer an (in person) farm school in the spring, summer, and fall. The program is 10 weeks. Ages are 4-11 years. Students will get hands on experience where they learn all things farming (equipment/ animal knowledge, gardening/plants, food, nature, etc). Schedule follows hard work, education and always ends with having fun. Your kid will talk about their 10 week course for a long time, we look forward to meeting your kid! Fletcher School offers complete and personalized education services for grades K-12 by two experienced educators. Our microschool has a consistent, structured approach which considers the learning style and level of each student. In-person daily instruction using the English language is combined with homework to reinforce skills as needed.

Established in 2005, Flipside is a USA Gymnastics certified club located in Syracuse, Utah. We follow their guidelines and skill level progressions and techniques. Our facility has 8,770 square feet. We teach Power Tumbling, Trampoline, Double-mini Trampoline, and Cheer Tumbling. We offer classes for all levels from beginners to elite. We have a big foam pit that allows our more experienced athletes to learn advanced skills safely. In addition, we also have competition trampoline and double-mini trampolines as well as a 50-foot tumble tramp. Athletes can perfect techniques on these apparatuses and then are more efficient when putting their skills on the floor. We not only teach the basic skills correctly but we also have the knowledge and skill to teach the upper-level athletes. Founded in A.D. 2000, The Great Books Academy is a Homeschool Program for nursery-12th graders offering curriculum, lesson plans and study guides that include the Good Books. We also offer live subject matter classes from K-12 in English, History, Math, Science, Greek, Latin, and Spanish. In addition, we offer live Socratic Discussion and Philosophy for Children classes for Grades 3-8. Guide Dots brings hands-on drawing lessons into student's homes. Our video-guided art classes use a unique light and Guide Dot system to teach the child how to combine lines, shapes, and colors so they can put pencil to paper and create with confidence.

Do you have fond memories of parachute games, freeze-tag, kickball, foursquare, and more? Homeschool Fitness is a P.E. program held in local gyms, allowing homeschooled children the opportunity to receive traditional P.E. instruction.

Founded by a homeschooling mom who wished her own children had less screen time and more opportunities for physical education and social interaction, the program is designed to provide a fun, wholesome, and safe fitness experience for all kids ages 5 through 12.

Each class period starts with basic warm-up routines that include calisthenics as well as cardio activities. Main activities include playground games, sports, obstacle courses, drills, team exercises, and more.

We offer 8-week programs throughout the school year, with two one-hour classes a week for a total of 16 classes per program. Every program offers different experiences and activities and therefore if desired, families are welcome to enroll on a rolling basis. We now offer FALL, WINTER, and SPRING programs.

Outdoor Education that is child led with an emergent curriculum

Hi! My name is Danielle Housman. I provide reading therapy to students who are dyslexic/at risk for Dyslexia through the Take Flight and BUILD interventions. I am deep into the process of training to becoming a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), also known as a dyslexia reading therapist. I have been an occupational therapist for over 15 years, serving individuals with spinal cord injuries. I am the mom of two successful elementary age students with learning disabilities. I am eager to provide support Utah students with dyslexia/at risk for dyslexia as a reading therapist in training.

WHAT I OFFER:

Reading therapy! I am able to offer the Take Flight Intervention to individual students or small groups (maximum of 3 students). Out of all of the Orton Gillingham multisensory structured literacy programs available, I have chosen to be trained in Take Flight because it addresses all five of the Essential Components of Reading identified by the National Reading Panel: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. This intervention is for students who are at least 7 years old.

I am also able to offer the BUILD intervention, a Tier 2 intervention for K-1st graders (or those reading at that level) identified at risk for dyslexia. BUILD is a structured multisensory literacy intervention that also addresses the 5 core components of reading. There are 100 lessons total in this program.

THE TAKE FLIGHT CURRICLUM:

Take Flight is a Tier 3 Orton Gillingham intervention for individuals with dyslexia and other learning disabilities created by staff at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for children. It is based on decades of research by building on the Alphabetic Phonics and Dyslexia Training Programs. Students must be at least 7 years old to participate in this intervention. The intervention can be taught individually or in a small group setting. The curriculum is composed of 7 books which entail 132 lessons, a total of 230 hours of direct instruction. The daily lessons plans follow a progression of increasing complexity based on previous and cumulative learning. Below please find a breakdown of specific skills taught in each of the 7 books-

Book 1&2: Two new grapheme-phoneme rules are introduced each day through mouth/sound pictures, directly integrates grapheme introduction, phonemic awareness, and spelling. Phonics knowledge is applied through reading single words, sentences, combines new lesson rules with previous lessons. Phonemic awareness activities include phonological memory and phoneme manipulation. Handwriting instruction in cursive writing.

Books 3&4: New grapheme introduction on A-days, practice of previously learned material on B-days. Comprehension strategy instruction, 20 minutes of oral reading and connected text.

Books 5&6: Continue alternating A&B days, emphasis on advanced phonics, complex reading and spelling patterns, phonemic awareness progress from mouth pictures to abstract manipulation of colored squares

Book 7: Morphological approach to reading through word etymology, root words and affixes

When it comes to my high school classes, I embrace a unique approach that goes beyond the standard teaching methods. In addition to striving to build strong relationships and relatability with my learners, my goal is to ignite their curiosity right from the beginning through captivating hooks. For me, history extends far beyond a mere collection of dates and events; it encompasses the fascinating exploration of the motives that drove countries, civilizations, and empires to make pivotal choices. I facilitate meaningful discussions that encourage students to think critically, analyze historical contexts, and form their own well-informed opinions. My aim is to empower them to delve into the lessons we can glean from the past and comprehend the profound relevance of history in shaping our lives today.

For high school learners, we dig deeper. I start with captivating hooks to ignite curiosity, then guide discussions that ask why civilizations made pivotal choices. Together, we explore how history’s lessons shape the world today, empowering students to think critically and form their own perspectives.

And while high schoolers might say that simulations and hands-on activities are “lame,” I’ve learned they secretly enjoy them! That’s why, from time to time, we sneak those interactive elements into high school courses too—because who says learning can’t be fun at any age?

With a BA in Political Science (Comparative Politics) and an M.Ed. in Secondary Social Sciences, plus edTPA certification, I bring over a decade of teaching experience to my classes. I specialize in comparative governments, world and US history, and love adding creative twists—think of it like sneaking veggies into dessert.

The Jefferson Scholar Program helps youth learn the mindset and skills of a scholar while learning language arts, social studies, and an elective called, How to Scholar.

The purpose is to help youth learn how to think, research, take notes, organize their information, and present their newfound understanding and knowledge in various scholar ways.
